A Journey to Christmas – Advent Tree Lighting & Celebration

Please save the date for our annual kick off to the most holy Advent Season: A Journey to Christmas

To remain safe durring the COVID-19 code orange level, this will be a FREE drive thru family event that will take place on the First Sunday of Advent – November 29th from 6:00 – 7:30pm in the church & school front parking lot.  As visitors drive thru, they are treated to a Journey to Christmas which will consist of series of advent stations:

  1. HOPE – receive an Advent Calendar
  2. LOVE – we are collecting canned goods for St. Vincent DePaul food pantry as well as hats, mittens, gloves and scarves for St. Amelia Outreach
  3. JOY – receive a Christmas activity handout
  4. PEACE – bring your baby Jesus from your home nativity to be blessed by Fr. Sibby & Fr. Peter 

Visitors will complete their journey by passing thru our “Lane of Lights” – rows of vehicles illuminated and decorated for the Christmas Season.  To register your vehicle for the “Lane of Lights”, please contact Arlene in the recotry at 836-0011 or ameyerhofer@stamelia.com  Your journey will end with a little vist & treat from St. Nick himself!

We would like to thank The Holy Name Society for sponsoring this event, getting the tree and decorating.  We would also like to recognize Tops friendly markets for donating some of the items to help make our journey possible for visiotrs.  And lastly all of the volunteers who have organized this joint effort for the school, church and community.
